endless possibilities with real estate in rural communities

Our introduction to the real estate market began in 2018 after paying $33,500 cash for a 2-bed, 1-bath home in rural Oklahoma for $34/sqft - a fair and standard market price. After an incredible amount of elbow grease and determination were poured into the property (along with a considerable amount of love) it was sold in 2020 for $59,900 at $61/sqft - an increase of 78.8%.

Our first short-term rental property was purchased for $48,000 in 2019 at a price of $37/sqft with 20% down and an overwhelming sense of urgency to make the property income-producing before personal funds depleted. After a solid two months of countless hours working late into the night, with the help of a team of friends who could never possibly be thanked enough for their talent, labor, and support - the listing was officially made live on Airbnb at an overly cautious rate of $55/night. Three years later, after investing profits back into the property in an effort to ensure survival in the uncertain pandemic market - this short-term rental is now listed at $179/night and maintains a booking rate significantly higher than the national average.

In many rural communities, there is no shortage of housing in the slightest - only a shortage of quality and safe housing. It is in these communities that affordable properties absolutely radiate possibility and return on investment. With the global demand for short-term rental properties increasing by tens of billions of dollars each year, the endless income possibilities for real estate only become more certain. There is an abundance of opportunity for everyone in this age of information and Airbnb allows us all to join the real estate investor community - no printer needed.
